“The
Matrix” What Is The Symbolism Behind The Movie?
Morpheus says to
Neo, “You’re here because you know
something. What you know you can’t
explain. You’ve felt it your entire
life, that there is something wrong with the world, you don’t know what it is,
but it’s there like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad. It is this feeling that has brought you to
me. Do you know what I’m talking about? Do you want to know what it is? The Matrix is everywhere. It is all around us, even in this very
room. You can see it when you look out
your window, or when you turn on your television, you can feel it when you go
to work, when you go to church, when you pay your taxes. It is the world that has been pulled over
your eyes to blind you from the Truth.” “What truth?” Neo asks. “That you
are a slave, Neo, like everyone else, you were born into bondage, born into a
prison that you cannot smell or taste or touch, a prison of the
mind…Unfortunately, no one can be told what the Matrix
is. You have to see it for yourself. This is your last chance. After this there is no turning back. You take the blue pill, the story ends, you
wake up in your bed and you believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the Rabbit-hole
goes…Remember, all I’m offering is the Truth, nothing more.” (direct quote from a
small portion of “The Matrix” written & directed by The Wachowski
Brothers.)
It
has often been said that this can’t be God’s world, it’s too messed up, too
much suffering and cruelty, countless number of horrible wars, disease
epidemics, famines, from the beginning of recorded history. Judging from the historic evidence, it would
appear this present world is under the unseen control of someone or something
far more diabolical than a loving God of Creation. Is this true? Are we living in some kind of Matrix of deception which keeps us bound
in an endless cycle of wars, famines and diseases epidemics throughout our
recorded history? Where would we turn
for the answers? Does the Bible, the
Word of God, give us, any of us, a simple answer, an answer any of us could understand? Revelation 12:9, “And the great dragon was
cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the
whole world, and his angels were cast out with him.” That’s a pretty clear answer. By this one verse, the Bible is saying the
whole world is living in a Satan generated Matrix of deception, holding the
world into bondage by it. Another
passage from the Bible backs this up, 2nd Corinthians 11:14-15, “And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an
angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers
also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be
according to their works.” The Bible
is called the Truth of God, the Word of God. Most of mankind, under the deception of Satan, Satan’s Matrix of
deception, if you will, cannot and does not understand what the Bible says, the
revealed Word of God, nor do they care about what it says. All mankind is in bondage to this unseen
realm of Satan and his demons, just as Revelation 12:9 said, as well as being
in bondage to sin. They don’t even
really understand the significance of either. Bible prophecy clearly teaches what’s going to happen in this world,
both good and bad. But everyone held in
Satan’s Matrix of deception doesn’t understand any of this Bible truth. Mankind lives blindly from day to day, not
knowing what awaits them, good or bad. Those who take the “red pill” do come to understand, truth begins to be
revealed to them, the truth of what God’s Word really tells us, truths which
have been locked up since the beginning of Space-Time itself. Mr. Smith (i.e. Satan) said to Morpheus, “The Matrix, [is] the peak of your civilization,
I say your civilization, because as
soon as we started thinking for you it became our civilization, which is of course what this is all about.”
Coming Out Of “The Matrix”
When
God begins to call an individual out of the deceptive Matrix of Satan
(symbolized in the movie by Morpheus drawing Neo out of the Matrix, offering
him the choice between taking the “blue pill” or the “red pill”), that
individual, more often than not, is led to prove for himself or herself that
God really exists, and that the Bible is indeed the infallible Word of
God. This can be done by the honest
inquiring mind of a person making a careful study of science, especially
micro-biochemistry of cellular structure (Michael Behe’s “Darwin’s Black Box”
is an excellent proof-text), and by making a comparative study of secular
history coupled to fulfilled Bible prophecy, which conclusively proves the Word
of God is 100 percent valid and accurate. But once a person has proven God’s existence and the validity of his
Word, they are faced with a choice, 1) to reject what they have just proven,
symbolized in the movie by taking the “blue pill.” If that is the individual’s choice, the
powerful deception of Satan’s broadcast which is worldwide into the very spirit
of man, will then proceed to remove even the fact that the individual proved
God’s existence, evidence will become irrelevant, and they will slip back into
the bondage of deception they were in. Or, 2) the individual, upon proving God’s existence to the best of his
or her ability, then will choose the “red pill,” making an active choice of
asking and accepting Jesus Christ into his or her life, and then receiving
God’s Holy Spirit, which then more thoroughly unlocks a true understanding of
God’s Word, the Bible, the Truth of God, so that person is no longer in bondage
to sin and Satan’s Matrix of deception. The very fact that there is an alternate creation, an alternate reality
in the spirit realm, not visible to the five senses, the realm of angels and
demons, and God who dwells outside of Space-Time itself, becomes a reality for
those taking the “red pill.” Once a
person takes the “red pill” they are ready for baptism and then after that
baptism the Holy Spirit takes up permanent residence in the new-believer. Remember, once Neo had committed his life by
taking the “red pill” (red being symbolic of the blood of Christ), it put a
trace on Neo, and Morpheus could then locate Neo in the Matrix. It was at this point that Neo was “disconnected”
from the Matrix, and flushed down a tube, where he was hurtled into a big pool
of water and submerged into it, and was then pulled up and out of the water by
Morpheus into his ship, the Nebuchadnezzar II. It was at this point that Neo’s new life began, disconnected from the
Matrix (of Satan’s deception, the world). This disconnection from the Matrix and being dumped underwater in a
large pool is symbolic of a Christian’s being baptized, where the Holy Spirit
takes up permanent residence within the believer. Receiving God’s Holy Spirit brings a healthy
alternate understanding of what is real and what is deception in the world we
live in, and in the cosmos, the physical universe, and what is real outside of
Space-Time, as revealed in God’s Word. But for those living inside Satan’s Matrix of deception, as the apostle
Paul says, the things of God, contained in the Bible, are foolishness to
them. This fact, along with a good
description of the affect of taking the “red pill” is described by the apostle
Paul in 1st Corinthians
2:9-16, where he says, “But as it is
written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart
of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth
the things of a man, save [by] the
spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but [by] the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the
world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are
freely given to us of God. Which things
also we speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy
Ghost [Holy Spirit] teacheth, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things
of the Spirit of God: for they are
foolishness unto him: nether can he know them, because they are spiritually
discerned. But he that is spiritual
judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that
he may instruct him? But we have the
mind of Christ.” What does the Holy Spirit do within us, as we come out of
the Matrix, and start growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ? Paul describes some of the process in the 7th and 8th chapters of the Book of Romans, but we’ll look at Romans 8:1-7, “There is therefore no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who
walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from
the law of sin and death. For what the
law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh [i.e. the flesh was
weak, not the law], God sending his own
Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the
flesh: that the righteousness of the law
might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the
Spirit. For they that
are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after
the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal
mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God,
neither indeed can be.” The Holy
Spirit cancels out that enmity described here in verse 7 of Romans 8, as
we can see in this passage of verses, and gives us a love for God and his law,
as David so aptly demonstrates this positive bias for God and the law of God in Psalm 119:97, “O how love I thy
law! it is my meditation all the day.” “As long as the Matrix exists, the human
race will never be free.” (Morpheus to Neo)
Those Who Exit The Matrix
Enter Into Combat Training
In
the movie, after Neo takes the “red pill,” he proceeds to go through intense
combat training. This too is symbolic of
a Bible truth, that once a person accepts Christ, receives the Holy Spirit,
that individual enters into spiritual growth and a type of spiritual combat
training which Paul describes in 2nd Corinthians 10:3-6, “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the
flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God
to the pulling down of strong holds;) casting down imaginations, and every high
thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into
captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; and having in a readiness
to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.” and Ephesians 6:10-18, “Finally, my brethren,
be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God,
that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,
but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of the darkness of
this world, against spiritual wickedness [margin: “wicked spirits”] in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and
having done all, to stand. Stand
therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the
breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the
gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be
able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword
of the Spirit, which is the Word of God: praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and
watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplications for all saints…”
“Tank, Load The Jump
Program”
In
the movie, Morpheus says, “Tank, load the jump program.” In this next part of the
movie, when Morpheus says that, it is symbolic of how God builds faith into a
new-believer, and then throughout the Christian’s life. Head knowledge and understanding of God’s
Word, the Truth of God is one thing, having a living faith is quite another. Faith is one of the critical ingredients that separates the spiritual men from the boys. The Bible defines what real faith is, which
God’s training develops within us. As
Morpheus said to Neo, “You have to let it all go Neo, fear, doubt, and disbelief---free
your mind.” James 2:14-23, “What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save
him? If a brother or sister be naked,
and destitute of daily food, and one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye
give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead,
being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou
hast faith, and I have works: shew me
thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou
doest well: the devils [demons] also
believe, and tremble. But wilt thou
know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? [and these verses
show it’s both works of obedience to God’s law, and good works toward the less
fortunate being talked about here by James] Was not Abraham our father justified by
works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? And the scripture was fulfilled which saith,
Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.” and Hebrews
11:8-12, 24-31, “By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place
which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not
knowing whither he went. By faith he
sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles [tents] with Isaac and Jacob, the
heirs with him of the same promise: for
he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.” Want to blow your mind, turn to Revelation
chapter 21 and read through verses 1 through 23 to get a picture of that city. “Through
faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered
of a child when she was past age, [she was 99 years old at that time] because she judged him faithful who had
promised. Therefore sprang there even of
one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore
innumerable…By faith Moses, when he was come to years [about forty years
old] refused to be called the son of
Pharaoh’s daughter [basically renouncing his claim to be the next Pharaoh
of Egypt, the most powerful superpower in the world at that time]; choosing rather to suffer affliction with
the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; esteeming
the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompense of the
reward. By faith he forsook Egypt, not
fearing the wrath of the king: for he
endured, as seeing him who is invisible. Through faith he kept the passover[see
Exodus 12] and the sprinkling of blood,
lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them. By faith they passed through the Red sea as
by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were
drowned. By faith the walls of Jericho
fell down, after they were compassed about seven days. By faith the harlot Rahab perished not, when
she had received the spies with peace.” All these people took giant leaps of faith, over the periods of their
lifetimes. As Morpheus said to Neo, “There’s a difference between knowing the
path and walking the path.”
What About Those Billions
Of People Held In Bondage Inside The Matrix?
“The
Matrix is a system, Neo [Satan’s deceptive system in the world], that system is
our enemy. You look around, what do you
see? Business men, carpenters, the very
minds of the people who we are trying to save, these people are still a part of
that system, and that makes them our enemy.” “You have to understand, they’re
not ready to be unplugged [i.e. unplugged from Satan’s Matrix of
deception]. And many of them are…so
hopelessly dependant on the system that they will fight to protect it.” “As
long as the Matrix exists, the human race will never be free.” 1st John 2:15-16, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If
any man love the world, the love of the Father is not
in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh,
and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is
of the world.” What most of
modern-day Christianity does not understand, but is accurately brought out
symbolically in the movie, is that almost all of those held within Satan’s
Matrix of deception are not ready to be “unplugged” from the Matrix, they’re
not ready to be called into God’s truth. Most of mankind from the dawn of recorded history, going back 6,000
years, an estimated 50 billion people who have lived and died, never were
called by God nor were they ever “unplugged” from Satan’s Matrix of
deception. This is a historic fact which
the Bible doesn’t really contest. Are
all these “unsaved dead” lost, eternally damned? What Is God’s Real Plan Of Salvation For All The Unsaved In The World? If They Die, Are They Lost? The
ever-burning hell doctrine that says all unbelievers who die go to an
ever-burning hell is a Satanic teaching that deceives mankind in general that
God is a cruel and unforgiving God without mercy. Thus mankind in general---through this
demonic twisting of Scripture and the teaching of it by the Catholic church and other Christian groups---has been pre-disposed to
believe that the Christian Church and the God of the Bible are a narrow-minded
and cruel bunch. Considering that out of
the 50 billion humans that have lived and died over the past 6,000 years of
recorded history, by comparison to that number, relatively few have accepted
the call of God and been saved. What is
God’s real plan for the salvation of all those unsaved who have lived and died
outside of “the faith”, those entrapped in Satan’s Matrix of deception? Is there such a plan?
We
know through the writings of the apostle Paul in 1st Corinthians 15
that those who are saved in this life, those who have accepted God’s call on
their lives, and have grown in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ during
their normal lifetimes, are resurrected and given immortal bodies, given
immortality, as they rise up to meet Jesus Christ at his 2nd coming. That is established Biblical
doctrine. Revelation 20:4-6 also talks
of this resurrection and granting of immortality and positions of rulership
under Christ, but right in the middle of those three verses, the rest of
unsaved mankind, the “unsaved dead” are
mentioned. Revelation 20:4-6, “And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and
judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded
for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped
the beast, neither his image, neither received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived
and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were
finished. This is the first
resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first
resurrection: on such the second death
hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign
with him a thousand years.” A little
later on in the same chapter of Revelation these unsaved dead are mentioned
again. Revelation 20:12-13, “And I saw the dead, small and great, [i.e.
the same dead mentioned in verse 5 of Revelation 20, “the rest of the dead”] stand before God; and the books were
opened: and another book was opened,
which is the book of life: [i.e.
everyone has been resurrected back to physical life] and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the
books, according to their works. And the
sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and
hell [“hell” i.e. the grave] delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.” Because the very next set of verses in
Revelation 20, verses 14-15, point to those who are not written in the book of
life being thrown into hell-fire, most of Christianity assumes this teaches an
everburning hellfire doctrine, and that everyone resurrected in this massive
second resurrection all get thrown into hellfire. Revelation
20:14-15, “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the
book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” But when trying to discern a Bible doctrine
(the word “doctrine” merely means “teaching”), you have to take all the related
Scriptures on that particular subject and put them together to see what the
Bible really teaches on that subject. And the true meaning of that group of Scriptures has to be obtained by
adding them together. One Scripture never subtracts from the meaning of another, it’s always additive. When people, theologians ignore key passages
in the Bible that relate to the subject they’re studying, they will always
obtain a warped and inaccurate understanding of God’s Word.
How Many Resurrections Of The Dead Are There Going To Be?
In
the Old Testament, the LORD told Daniel the prophet that
there were going to be two massive resurrections of the dead. Two, count them. Search from the beginning to the end of the
Bible, you’ll only find two prophecied. Daniel 12:1-3, “And at that time shall
Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy
people: and there shall be a time of
trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and
at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found
written in the book. And many of them
that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and
some to shame, and everlasting
contempt. [Daniel doesn’t
differentiate the large amount of time between these two resurrections, but
Revelation 20 gives this span of time as being 1,000 years] And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and
they shall turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.” Jesus basically repeated the same thing
in John 5:28-29, when he said, “Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that
are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth; they that have
done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto
the resurrection of damnation.” Now
by reading these two passages in the King James, one could be led to believe
everyone coming up in the second resurrection, again, gets thrown into
hellfire. But in reading John 5:29 in
the Greek, the word “damnation” is the Greek word “krisis” which
means “decision.” So the second
resurrection, by Jesus’ own words, is a “resurrection of decision,”
nothing’s been decided yet. So we have
seen so far that the Bible teaches about two major resurrections back to life,
one a resurrection for the saints of God to immortality, where they’re given
immortal spirit bodies (spirit is more solid than matter, by the way, so don’t
think our spirit bodies will have the composition of a cloud). The second resurrection is a massive
resurrection back to physical life and existence. It occurs at the very end of the period of
time called “The Millennial Kingdom of God.” Revelation 20:5, 11-13, “But the
rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished…And I
saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and
the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand
before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the
dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according
to their works. And the sea gave up the
dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up
the dead which were in them: and they
were judged every man according to their works.”
Does The Bible Mention Anywhere A Massive
Resurrection Back To Physical Life Other Than Revelation 20?
There
is a passage describing a massive resurrection back to physical life that most
of Christianity ignores, because it doesn’t fit into their “everburning
hellfire” doctrine. When added
to the other passages we’ve just looked at, it shows that everyone
resurrected in this massive second resurrection back to physical life are given
their very first opportunity for salvation. This passage is found in the Old Testament, in the prophetic book of
Ezekiel. Let’s read it and see what it
tells us. Ezekiel 37:1-14, “The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me
out in the spirit of the LORD,
and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones, and caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry. And he said unto me, Prophesy upon these
bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall
live: and I will lay sinews upon you,
and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in
you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD. So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and
behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone. And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the
flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there
was no breath in them. Then said he
unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind,
Thus saith the Lord GOD;
Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may
live. So I prophesied as he commanded
me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their
feet, an exceeding great army. Then said
he unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.” (verses 1-11) They’re all worried as they rise up, that this is a
resurrection to damnation, as many of them have been erroneously taught by
Catholic dogma. Let’s see how God
answers their worried question. “Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus
saith the Lord GOD;
Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of
your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. And ye shall know that I am the LORD,
when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your
graves, and shall put my Spirit in you, and I shall place you in your
own land: then shall ye know that I the
LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.”
(verses 12-14) Now this
says all Israel is being resurrected. What about the rest of the world? God answers this question in Ezekiel
16:55, “When thy sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former
estate, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate, then
thou and thy daughters shall return to your former estate.” By the way, Sodom and Gomorrah were noted
for and destroyed for their homosexual lifestyle. Does God hate them? Clearly not, he’s resurrecting them and
giving them a chance for salvation along with everybody else. As a matter of fact, Jesus said in the
Gospels that conditions would be better for Sodom and Gomorrah in this
resurrection than for those who had witnessed his miracles in Israel and
rejected him as Messiah. Jesus was not
and is not homophobic. They’re just not
called nor do they understand the things of salvation right now. They will later, and they’ll have it better
than the hypocrites who witnessed Jesus’ miracles and yet rejected him. Jesus said so, Jesus loves them, he died to
pay for their sins so that they might have life, and more abundantly, in this
awesome resurrection back to life. And then again he gives us the same answer
in Revelation 20:5, 11-13, showing
us that Ezekiel 37:1-14 applies to all the “unsaved dead” and not just Israel, “But the rest of the dead lived not again
until the thousand years were finished…And I saw a great white throne, and him
that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away, and there
was found no place for them. And I saw
the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life:” i.e. everyone
coming up, is given back their physical life, as we just saw in Ezekiel 37:1-14 “and the dead were
judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their
works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead
which were in them: and they were judged
every man according to their works.”
How Do We Know God Intends To Offer Salvation To
This Massive Group Of People?
Ezekiel 37:13-14,
“And ye shall know that I am the LORD,
when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your
graves, and shall put my Spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall
place you in your own land: then shall
ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.” The receiving of God’s Holy Spirit is the
beginning of the salvation process for all new-believers, Acts 2:1-4, 38-39, 41, “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come,
they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind,
and it filled all the house where they were
sitting. And there appeared unto them
cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost
[Spirit], and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them
utterance…Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you
in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive
the Holy Ghost [Spirit]. For the promise
is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are
afar off, even as many as the Lord
our God shall call…Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand
souls.” What awaits those in this
massive group of people if they grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus
Christ? It can be nothing less than what
we have received in the 1st resurrection, which is 1st Corinthians 15:49-55, “And
as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the
heavenly. Now this I say, brethren, that
flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption
inherit incorruption. Behold, I shew you
a mystery; We shall not all sleep, [i.e. die] but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye,
at the last trump: for the trumpet shall
sound [this Trumpet is the 7th Trumpet of Revelation 11:15-18,
heralding the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ], and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we [who remain
alive] shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on
incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this
corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on
immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying
that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” Why will this apply to those in the second
resurrection? Because
God is no respecter of persons. It is God’s intention that if possible all people be saved, 2nd Peter 3:9, “The Lord is not
slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering
to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come
to repentance.”
What Kind Of World Will
All These “Unsaved Dead” Be Resurrected Into?
One
other thing, at the time of this massive resurrection back to physical life,
there will be no more Satan or the demons, no more Satanic influence. All these people will be
resurrected from the evil world they died in, many dying in horrible
circumstances, having lived painful and horrible lives in Satan’s world, and
they will all be resurrected into the beautiful world that exists during the
Millennial Kingdom of God on earth. What
will that world be like? The LORD through Isaiah gives us a
brief and beautiful description in Isaiah
35:1-10, “The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the
desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it,
the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see
the glory of the LORD, and the excellency of our God. [What
will that “glory of the LORD” be like? Read Revelation 1:13-18] Strengthen ye the weak
hands, and confirm the feeble knees. Say
to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold your God will come with vengeance, even God with recompence; he will come and save you. Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and
the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then shall the lame man leap
as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out,
and streams in the desert. And the
parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass and reeds and
rushes. And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness;
the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall
be for those: the wayfaring men,
though fools, shall not err therein. No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon,
it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there: and the ransomed of
the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their
heads: they shall obtain joy and
gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.” Let’s
also read Isaiah 11:6-9, “The wolf also
shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the
calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead
them. And the cow and the bear shall
feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the suckling child shall play on the hole
of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’
[adder’s] den. They shall not hurt nor
destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge
of the LORD,
as the waters cover the sea.” This is the world these unsaved dead will be
resurrected into, as compared to the evil, painful world they died in, a
history of 6,000 years of countless wars and famines and destruction. The choice to choose salvation, for them,
will be an easy one. Most of mankind, I
suspect, will make it into the Kingdom of God, being granted immortality. Oh, by the way, the Bible doesn’t teach
about an everburning hell. Revelation
20:14-15 teaches that the wicked will be burned up, annihilated, quick death
and no eternal suffering. God’s not a
cruel being. God’s plan of salvation is
far greater than most have envisioned. Most of Christianity’s warped and incorrect belief about an everburning
hell that all the unsaved go to immediately upon death has hidden this
beautiful Biblical truth from them. But
it won’t stop God from performing it, as he stated so firmly in Ezekiel
37. In the end, every human being who
has ever lived, will be set free from the Satan’s Matrix of deception and be
given a full opportunity for salvation and to enter into eternal life with all
the saints of God who have gone before them. In the movie, Neo plays two roles essentially, that of the ordinary
Christian, coming out of the Matrix, and of Jesus Christ, who never was
entrapped within Satan’s Matrix of deception, who sets mankind free from
Satan’s Matrix of deception, portrayed by the intense battle scene at the end
of the movie. And if you didn’t notice,
Morpheus played the role of God the Father, who was the one who initially drew
Neo out of the Matrix of deception. Jesus said in John 6:44, “no man can come to me unless the
Father draw him.”
