MISSION STATEMENT:

1.    The first major purpose of this site is to help enable the flow of the Holy Spirit's life-giving power and guidance into as large a number of Christians as is possible, enlivening their walk with the Lord and thus bringing about a spiritual unity within the entire body of Christ across denominational lines.  This site helps the Christian reader to accomplish that by providing him or her with a quality selection of connective expository Bible studies taken from and based on meditative studies in the Word of God.  How does one grow spiritually by studying the Word of God in this manner?  The Word is spiritual food for the soul.  Jeremiah 15:16 states, "Thy words were found, and I did eat them, and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart."  Jesus states in Matthew 4:4 "But He answered and said, 'It is written, 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out through the mouth of God.'"  George Muller states in his autobiography, The Life of Trust, "...it is as plain to me as anything, that the first thing the child of God has to do morning by morning is, to obtain food for his inner man.  As the outward man is not fit for work for any length of time except we take food, and as this is one of the first things we do in the morning, so it should be with the inner man.  We should  take food for that, as every one must allow.  Now what is food for the inner man?  Not prayer, but the Word of God, and here again, not simple reading of the Word of God, so that it only passes through our minds, just as water runs through a pipe, but considering what we read, pondering over it, and applying it to our hearts.  We may therefore profitably meditate, with God's blessing, though we are so weak spiritually; nay, the weaker we are, the more we need meditation for the strengthening of our inner man.  By the blessing of God I ascribe to this mode the help and strength which I had had from God to pass in peace through deeper trials, in various ways, than I had ever had before." Mr. Muller goes on to say, "How different, when the soul is refreshed and made happy early in the morning, from what it is when, without preparation, the service, the trials, and the temptations of the day come upon one!"  This site is chock full this kind of digestive study of God's Word that goes from the beginning to end of whatever epistle or gospel that's being presented.  And the reader should try to learn how to study the Word on his or her own in like manner, spending time to meditate on what is being read, and asking God's direction and inspiration, just as the pastors who gave these expository studies did in preparing these studies.  So now, dig in and feast on the meals prepared for your inner man or woman.

So in this first category what does this site provide?  I can divide what is provided into two main resources.  All genuine spiritual growth is a by-product of these two resources.  Personal, and as a result, church growth occurs because these two main needs of the Christian are being met.  I like to call these the two main pillars of spiritual and church growth.  The first need and pillar is having an effective prayer-life.  The second is being thoroughly fed in the Word of God. My primary focus and effort is to continue to constantly provide more quality material in the area of Paul’s epistles and the gospel and epistles of John, so as to help further the spiritual growth of the readers.  This area is primary gospel of Christ information that when studied and applied will deepen a Christian’s understanding and walk with Jesus Christ (Yeshua to our Messianic brothers and sisters in Christ).  The topical studies on prophecy (about 5% of this site) are secondary to this purpose, and only included as a side dish for Christians, and to highlight to non-believers the veracity and authenticity of God’s Word so that they might believe.

2. The second major purpose of this site is to educate Christians about Jesus' primary mission which he gave to the church and all believers in Matthew 28:18-20 and Acts 1:6-9.  What is that mission? Read it for yourself.  Matthew 28:18-20 states, "Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go.  When they saw him, they worshipped him; but some doubted.  Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'"  Acts 1:6-9 states, "So when they met together, they asked him, 'Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?'  He said to them: 'It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.  But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on [upon] you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."  Jesus prophecied in Matthew 24:14 that we as Christians would ultimately accomplish this goal set before us by him over 1900 years ago.  Matthew 24:14 states, "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."  [Verses 15-25 shows what “end” Jesus is talking about, the “end of the age”, this evil age of man under Satan’s evil influence.]  In one word, what is the mission Jesus gives all Christians, his body of believers, to accomplish?--Evangelism, personal, local church, national and international.  This site provides vital educational tools that help the believer know how he or she can evangelize on a personal level, as well as how to help support local church evangelism, and evangelism at the national and international levels as well.  (See "What is Evangelism?" section.)

We’re in the last days. September 11, 2001, Katrina’s devastation of New Orleans and the Luisiana coast, the tsunami and huge earthquake in Pakistan are merely the opening salvo’s of what’s to come.  Society is morally crumbling.

The gospel is freely given to us (if you have to pay for it, something’s wrong).  Salvation through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ is also a free gift to all believers.  Jesus paid a very high price for this salvation we enjoy, he paid with his very life.  The only thing Jesus asked us to do in return for all this is that we “Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to everyone--and for those that believe and are baptized, we are instructed to teach and disciple them into the body of Christ” (paraphrase of Matthew 28:19-20 and Mark 16:15-16).  “But how in the world can I help do that?”, you may be asking yourself.  Some of us may have an opportunity to evangelize to a friend or acquaintance now and then, “but taking the gospel to the ends of the world, there’s no way I can do that”, you’re probably thinking.  “I know Jesus paid a horrible price for my “free” salvation, but there’s no way I can take the gospel to the world.”  Well, not alone you can’t, that’s for sure. I propose a very simple and unique plan for giving, one that if followed by a large percentage of Christians using this site, would revolutionize the body of Christ in the field of evangelism and Christian care-giving (which is a key part of evangelism too).  Here’s how a lot of people, each providing a steady but small, almost insignificant amount of money on a weekly basis can move mountains in causing the gospel of salvation to be preached worldwide—both by word and living, caring example. I call this plan the $5.00 a week plan.

A whole host of quality Christian evangelical and teaching ministries have sprung up around the world, and a lot of them are non-denominational or inter-denominational.  They all serve to spread the gospel and help nourish and disciple Christians around the world.  But the big question is, how do we concentrate our giving-power in such a way that will make it extremely effective?  Here’s the answer, and it’s simple.  Below are listed three major non-denominational international evangelistic organizations that are totally above reproach.  If every believer using this site for spiritual nourishment, stirred by the only major request Jesus asked in return for his “free gift” of salvation, were to give a mere $5.00 a week on a rotational basis to each organization listed below (so each received $5.00 a month), each organization would receive multiple thousands of dollars a month.  On the fourth week try sending $2.00 to Mission Aviation Fellowship—and $2.00 to “the Jews for Jesus” (the major Messianic Jewish evangelistic organization).  (And if you feel this site is nourishing you spiritually, send $1.00 a month to it.)  So you will be contributing either $19 or $20 a month.  That’s it.  Simple, isn’t it?  The key to the plan’s success is to maintain the habit of sending in the offerings.  (after doing it for a couple months, it will be second-nature.)

These amounts may seem insignificant but when the hundred of users of this site all do the same thing—week by week, month by month—it will add up to many thousands of dollars a month, and hundreds of thousands of dollars a year!  The amounts may seem insignificant to you, but this is a major way we can be “united” in our giving to cause the gospel to make a HUGE IMPACT on this evil world.  And when “this gospel of the kingdom? Makes a huge impact on this evil world—it will hasten Jesus Christ’s 2nd coming (cf. Matthew 24:14-15).  Just within the past year (2005) hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans and most of coastal Louisiana, a killer tsunami hit the southeast Indian Ocean countries, killing millions of people, a killer 7.2 Richter-scale earthquake killing upwards of 45,000 people and displaced millions, just as winter is coming on them.  Samaritan’s Purse must be getting pretty hard-pressed to help all of these people in the name of Jesus with so many disasters occurring within one short year.  Churches in Borneo that didn’t exist 30 years ago, that do exist today due to evangelism (with some help from the JESUS Film Project), have lent aid in the wake of the killer tsunami.  But these international evangelistic organizations are basically starved for funds in the wake of recent events, and these events are only going to increase, as prophecy shows.  We must be about our Father’s business.  Considering all this, are you up to $5.00 a week?  The three major international evangelistic organizations that are attempting to blanket the world with the gospel—in both word and deeds of Christian care-giving—are listed below:

Buy War Bonds!!!

On American soil during World War II support for the  entire United States war effort being made by our combined armed forces overseas was phenomenally large.  The Air Force, Navy, Army and Marines were all loved and supported equally, even though friendly rivalry in support and feelings of loyalty existed.  Adolph Hitler in Germany and Tojo in Japan were the leaders of two very evil empires that wanted to dominate and crush the free world. These evil empires would end up killing multiple millions of people before they were defeated.  The Bible shows us in many place that the physical creation and physical events often mirror similar spiritual realities. For example, Satan has an invisible evil empire which rules over this physical world and its governments.  The apostle Paul says to us in Ephesians 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against wicked spirits in high places.”  Paul goes on to instruct us in Ephesians 6:13-21 how we Christians are to put on “the whole armour of God.”  If war were only on the physical plane, then the apostle Paul would never have penned those instructions for us. Jesus himself in his revelation to John on the Isle of Patmos said this whole world (which would include its governments and many of its religious organizations) is deceived by Satan.  Jesus in Revelation 12:9 states,  “And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world…”  In Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus basically gave his church--the body of Christ--their and our marching orders--to take and preach the gospel of salvation to the entire world--and to baptize and then disciple those who favorably respond, nurturing and strengthening them in the Word.  In that effort, we often find we are in direct opposition to Satan and his evil forces, his invisible evil empire.  In Matthew 24:14 Jesus directly prophecied that “this gospel of the kingdom” would go to the entire world, and then the end would come.  That end is described in verses 15-31 of Matthew 24, the end of Satan’s evil age which invisibly rules over mankind.  In promoting the gospel of salvation, the gospel of the kingdom, we are waging a spiritual warfare directly against Satan’s evil empire.  When we are finished with that job, Jesus says he’ll come and remove Satan and his evil empire from the world scene (cf. Revelation 19:11-21; 20:1-3).

I’ve listed three major international evangelistic organizations that are spreading “this gospel of the kingdom, the gospel of salvation,” around the world--huge spiritual harvests are being made, hundreds of thousands of new believers are being born-again into the heavenly kingdom of God as I write.  These evangelistic organizations are a direct spiritual equivalent to the Air, Naval, Army and Marine forces we had in WWII.  They are moving on targets, taking ground successfully in the active war the body of Christ is waging in promoting the gospel worldwide in these end-times.

Now I wish to make another analogy to help you understand something vital--something that’s in your vital interest.  Jesus said that when we give in this war effort, he will give back to us--both now in this age, but especially in the age to come, pressed down and overflowing.  He told us to invest in our eternal future, where moth and rust doth not corrupt.  Many of us in the United States are concerned about their retirement, and are investing for it, 401K plans and what have you.  Is there a spiritual equivalent here as well?  The Bible is full of them.  Lets look back to World War II in our analogy again.  We wanted our boys to win.  We wanted Hitler and Tojo defeated along with their evil empires, and for world peace and prosperity to reign supreme.  How much more should we want Jesus to reign supreme, bringing world peace and prosperity to this sin-sick, evil and hurting world?  Back in World War II we Americans had a way to put our money where out mouths and sentiments were, in support of our boys and girls in the armed forces.  How?--by buying War Bonds, U.S. Saving’s bonds the United States government was selling to help finance the war effort, to help pay for the troops and equipment of a fully mobilized nation at war.  Our front-line troops needed food, medical equipment, ships, submarines, aircraft carriers and ships of all kinds, aircraft of all types, tanks and vehicles of all types, artillery, ammunition by the millions of tons.  Even Hollywood mobilized their efforts in selling the public on buying War Bonds, which would mature sometime after the War, as well as pay dividends.  Jesus has shown us in his Word that when we invest in his War effort, when we invest in legitimate Christian evangelism, we are buying spiritual War Bonds that will pay huge benefits for those who buy them, eternal rewards beyond measure, based upon what has been contributed.  Jesus says, “to him who gives little, he will receive little, to him that gives much, he or she will receive much.”  How much is much to a guy who owns the Universe?  Good question.  On this website I have listed some valuable spiritual “War Bonds” that will pay huge dividends in the eternal Kingdom of God, for the bearers of those War Bonds who purchase them.  While no one on this earth may notice when you contribute to one of these big three I’ve listed or some other worthy evangelistic organization, Jesus notices, and will repay for the investment.  And if you’ve studied the Word, you will notice that Jesus equates what you give with how much you have to give with.  It’s not so much the amount that counts.  The $5.00 a week plan I mentioned will add up to a huge eternal benefit over time, as well as help supply Jesus Christ’s front line battle troops who are marching across third world countries, spreading the gospel and harvesting souls, bringing thousands of new Christian brothers and sisters into the body of Christ--precious people we’ll spend eternal life with.  Can you put a price on this, on this war effort?  Will Jesus look at our efforts and be able to compare them with the patriotic efforts of Americans during World War II, and be proud of us?  Or will he be somewhat ashamed?  Our nation in the US is no less wealthy than it was for our parents and grandparents during World War II.  Where’s the excuse?  So Buy War Bonds!!!  Invest in your future!  Invest in the spiritual war effort of Jesus Christ!  Don’t forget, your future will go on forever.

Sincerely,

Peter F, Benson
